Essentially the creator of Lizzie McGuirre and Disney were fighting each other to have the show go in the direction they want to go. Duff brings up a suggestion to put it on Hulu to make it mature, but Disney don't want that because they want kid friendly Lizzie McGuirre 2.0 on Disney +.
