They're increasing it to $2000.
They're just mad they can't get more money.
If some jackass on twitter started a campaign for $5000 checks, they'd latch onto that and demand it, too.
The republican claims that people don't want handouts and prefer to work for their money have been so fucking shredded this past year.
Good on the Dems...somewhat...for not giving into public pressure to just give infinite handouts and actually trying to set boundaries to the insane debt we're piling up. That's what our leaders should be doing, what's necessary, not what's popular. But then they get wrecked for it in the next election.
Democracy indeed is giving people exactly what they deserve, and giving it good and hard...

EDIT: Increasing min. wage to $15 is stupid, too. Adjust it for inflation and permanently index it to inflation so that every year going forward it goes up automatically, without needing to wait for Dems to have total control to raise it again.
"Fight for $15" is a stupid over-simplified buzzword/phrase. People in rural Kansas don't need a $15/hr minimum wage. States/cities with massive cost of living are free to set it higher, as always.
