When it comes to grenades, simply pulling the pin isn't the issue. It's kinda the equivalent of taking a safety off on a gun. iirc, you can even put the pin back in. What activates the explosive device is squeezing it and then then releasing. And technically if it was actually inert, none of that would have been an issue.



Sort of. The pin holds the spring loaded spoon in place. You pull the pin while holding the spoon, and once you throw it the spoon springs, and starts the fuse. While you may be able to put the pin back in if you haent released the spoon, it is recommended that you never do.
