I always thought it was kind of lacking compassion when people see a tragedy happening to someone and take a picture like it's an exhibit and just something to make their life more interesting. Like, this person is going through one of the worst moments of their life and you're just gonna add to it by pulling out their phone and treating them like you're personal entertainment. It's gotta feel shitty to look around in that moment and notice people don't give a shit about you, they just care about their feeds.

But this appears to be the norm and completely acceptable in our society. I guess sometimes the person gets scolded for that being their reaction to seeing tragedy, but not enough.

This is assuming you can't physically help someone. I'm not asking if you'd let someone be more harmed just to get a picture. That's way less of a grey area and just obviously trash behavior.
