What Rogan do? Like just stop having him on?
tl;dr: The liberal members of the "IDW" realized that he's a con-artist so they dropped him.
It all pretty much began when he had Rubin on his show. Rubin rolled out some stock libertarian/neo-liberal talking points about the government needing to getting out of the way of construction companies with all of their unnecessary regulations. Rogan, who IIRC was high as a kite, effortlessly smacked down that point, as he had worked in construction (his father was in construction) and knew that people tried to cut corners all the time to get a job done faster. Rubin also tried to state that the Post Office should be abolished so that companies like Amazon didn't have to rely on an inefficient government service. Rogan pointed out that the post Office is pretty much what enables companies like Amazon able to exist.

Around that time, Ana Kasparian did her take down of Rubin, in which, after he spent months slamming them, she pretty damningly laid out how he left the show to create the The Rubin Report just so he didn't have to work as hard. Sam Seder and crew's attacks on Rubin had pretty much become ubiquitous around that time as well. Rogan eventually acknowledged Seder's attacks on Rubin on a few episodes. Eventually, he stopped mentioning Rubin by name altogether and referenced a few dumb things that he had said without name dropping him.

Then, I think last August, he talked to a guest on his show about how you need to cut grifters out of your life once you realize who they are. That, combined with his ridicule of Rubin, and the fact that Rubin admitted on his show that he tried to reach out to Rogan to appear on his show to promote his new book and never received a response, has all but confirmed that Rogan realized that Rubin is a moron and an insincere con-artist that is just after those alt-lite bucks. Sam Harris, Eric Weinstein, Bret Weinstein, and Heather Heying, have all made disparaging statements that reference Rubin without name dropping him, indicating that pretty much all of them have also realized that he's a grifter.
