Y'all have never had that? We used to eat that for snacks a lot as a kid at my daycare. The main purpose is to encourage proper hydration in kids that don't really keep hydrated. Obviously you'd get hydrated just straight up drinking the Gatorade, but when you get that much in you with out water, you get super thirsty.

So after you eat it, you want to find water, which is the idea. Get kids used to drinking water, and not some sugary drink. You mix the two together, let it dry, freeze, and then thaw, and you get a rice krispy treat of sorts

This is sorta how those cereal bars came into being
