I hate to say it but can anyone sketch me out a timeline? I had limited internet and no people access the last two days. Was sick and off work, just mellowing out at home. I obviously get the full extend of the capitol building attack but
1: What did Trump say to incite the riots/cause talks of the 25th and impeachment? I missed that. 2: Where has he been since the attack? Has he made a speech addressing it? 3: Is it the 20th yet?
Well the full incitement obviously goes back to mid-November where he and Giuliani and Trump Jr. and others explicitly said that Trump supporting patriots need to go to war and fight to take the election back. But as far as yesterday's events go it was like:
Trump organizes a rally of thousands of Trump supporters in DC. Gives a speech about how Mike Pence and Congress are currently stealing the election and Trump supporters need to fight like hell to stop it. Orders the rally-goers to march toward the Capitol building right now to stop it.
Obviously the rally-goers do go to the building as Trump told them to and then storm inside. Capitol police for some reason are completely unprepared. Mike Pence and Congress are evacuated and staffers barricade themselves in offices. Some Trump supporters place pipe bombs around the area and one supporter is shot by police during the break-in.
Trump advisors reportedly beg Trump to say something to stop the violence. Trump releases a 1-minute video now deleted by Twitter where he calls them Patriots who are completely right and the election is still stolen, says he loves them all, and tells them they can go home now but they should remember this day.
