(I know a certain scumbag who is the opposite of this. if you don't understand him, it's your fault, and if he doesn't understand you, it's your fault. he will even treat complete strangers this way, as long as it's not in public.) - maybe you could say that someone who has zero interest in the subject is not actually a student. student implies at least some willingness to learn the subject. so, given that, it's up to the teacher to make it happen. --- ...
