It's construction. If you're a GC who regularly handles full scale building projects, you rake millions upon millions for your company, and it's not like you're necessarily a widespread company so pay can unsurprisingly come real well.

But the industry comes with a lot of hassle. Surprisingly stupid people if not just people who keep working with their own side agendas to weasel their way through. Foremen and general field teams are almost 24/7.

My current outlook on degrees and success is highly dependent on the trending industry. Even then, coming up short on networking and figuring out the game of the working industry as a well will keep you from getting anywhere.
Generally speaking, though, having a degree is an entry level formality. Not many people get the opportunity to be picked up via trade alone, so a degree is now an expensive safeguard.
