I think we've got about as much hope of understanding it as goldfish have of understanding the nature and complexity of the human world just beyond the glass walls of their tank. They're vaguely aware there's something that sprinkles food on the surface of the water every morning ... and that's about it. That's all they'll ever know. We're still clinging to Bronze Age superstitions in an attempt to grasp a tiny part of the universe, anthropomorphizing phenomena that we have no hope of comprehending.
