Yep, it's the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality, generally attributed to the older generations, who are now, ironically benefitting from Social Security. People refuse to acknowledge socio-economic issues that hamper economic mobility, such as growing up in a poor neighborhood. Yeah, people occasionally do, "make it out", but not everyone does.

It's a shame, we won't see a shift left in economical issues until at least, 12 years down line, at the least.
