getting Xiangling helped in general, it's nice having a non-meme Pyro character though she's kind of terrible at lighting torches because her bear will sometimes just decide to face another direction.

You could try using an anemo reaction to create a larger AoE in those instances but yeah her Goba can be finicky

For whatever reason it seemed to get better after making this post, I haven't run into many more bosses away from torches and the ones that did had the decency to not magically regenerate all of their health. The area around the peak was pretty neat too.

also I'd kind of forgotten about food buffs when doing the time-limited fight, that made it a lot easier

The game did start giving out ways of helping with the cold, but they only really become accessible after you've been exploring for awhile (especially the one that requires 40 Agate) so it doesn't make much of a difference in practice.

To be fair it's also a fairly small area despite them hyping it as a new area but I guess it's just the right size for being the relevant location for a couple-week long event. It's also nice that the grinding for the first event currency doesn't need resin compared to the previous event and the general spawn area of the grind locations are fairly near to each other

I kinda want to get my AR high quickly since it seems to lock a lot of stuff but idk, I also don't want to play too much before I get Ganyu lol

And yeah, the lack of a consistent pity system is one thing I really dislike about Arknights. I think I ended up rolling 70-some times on Blaze and 100-some times on Bagpipe and failed to get either. At least I'm about as prepared as I can be for Weedy/W, I had about 150 rolls last time I checked.

Well AR mostly just gates some main story progression and domains so it's actually easy to see where to pace yourself; though to be fair I think aside from WR 4 there's not really anything you need to watch out for. Speaking of I really want to get a good Cryo on my team but I'm not really personally sold on Ganyu overall as opposed to Qiqi even though I played through the parts of the story she appears in, on the other hand a Qiqi rate-up banner seems kinda unlikely since she's not a limited, gacha is pain peko

Future banners are weird, Surtr/Thorns look pretty strong but I don't really want them from a character standpoint, Blemishine is cute but doesn't look that relevant, Eunuctus/Mountain are w/e, and Rosmontis/Mudrock look great and I definitely want them but I guess that's to be expected of limited banners.

I'm interested in Surtr just because she seems to enable a lot of fire-and-forget strategies thanks to being an obscenely overpowered helidrop operator haha, plus I think she looks fairly cool personally. I think the new ones I'm most interested in would be Weedy/Mudrock/Surtr/Rosmontis. Eunectes I'm mostly just amused at her big skill being summoning a tractor mech piloted by Rio lol

also i like how I've coincidentally ended up saving up for banners that are all happening in the next month in the 3 gacha games I'm playing

-Ganyu banner in Genshin
-Weedy/W banner in Arknights
-Granblue's New Years roulette banners (potentially both of them)

GBFwise I'm quite on my way to two sparks but I'm not really saving for anything in particular, just that there's not much incentive to pull before the roulettes lol
Honestly I feel like I'm just waiting for the 2021 weapon annitix to get a second FLB Majestas so I can go all in on Hades and just faceroll all the hard content with palmtree cheese because it feels like a lot of the content is super annoying in various ways these days, at least dragon/malice is kinda less dumb now being raised to 18 people raids but tiamal drop rates continue to be suffering nontheless
