No. Religion was the start of trying to explain and understand things, which leads to understanding how things grow, which leads to every other discovery. No one particular religion or anything just you know the concept of it. Think of it like how Alchemy is to chemistry, religion is to science. If you get me...like none of us would have the frame work for any of the questions in this topic without that early primitive attempt at understanding.
Spirituality and Afrocentric philosophy lead to our current understanding of science, not religion. Spirituality is to metaphysics what science is to physics, as they are 2 sides of the same coin. We can prove that souls exist and heaven/hell are states of mental brain frequency by using our understanding of physics and metaphysics. Religion is nothing more than a heavily distorted and glorified philosophy of Western psychology as a means of consolidating power and control.
