My dad has worked more than the "standard" 40 hours a week most of my life and I don't think that way, I think I am a bit saddened by his absence in my life from going on all his work trips and such over the years. That we don't really know each other that well so neither of us know how to approach each other much. Did he try to give you everything, take care of you, etc.? Then respect him. My biological father did a traditional 40 hour week, but didn't give a shit about me nor was he around because he was too busy hanging out with his buddies. My step dad (my true "father") on the other hand, would have to bust ass for my brother and me, we'd barely see him... but he did what he could to make sure we were taken care off. Yeah, we didn't see him often, but my brother and I were mature enough to understand why, and didn't complain.
