Rinoa comes the closest because "My Mind" plays in a lot of important scenes she's in, but that's it. And yes, some of my favorite scenes are just Squall lying on his bed wrestling with his thoughts. The main conflict is internal, which is why Ultimecia isn't that important. Squall doesn't care who she is.
