The controls are better (start with the chill penguin stage and get the extra dash to make it super obvious) and the graphics are more pleasant. mega man 1 feels kind of unfair and annoying to control The stories are hardly related (techincally i think they're semi related with a large time gap) so you're good from that front I'm only familiar with the NES/SNES titles so I'll cede to others in terms of everything else --- You did indeed stab me in the back.
