I don't think it's fair to label people who have concerns about this vaccine as "anti-vaxxers".
Here's my position: I think it's understandable to have reservations on safety grounds about taking a vaccine that had a very compressed development time and hasn't yet been mass administered. If people are cautious, and just want to see how things pan out for the first few months before taking the shot, that's quite normal.

Personally, I'll take mine sooner rather than later, because I feel the risks to me of taking the vaccine (and yes, there's always some risk factor with new medicines or vaccines) are likely to be far outweighed by the risks to my wife if I catch Covid and pass it on to her -- because she ticks several boxes that place her in the clinically vulnerable group, and if she became infected then she stands a very strong chance of suffering severe if not deadly harm. I'm not going to do that to her.

But the thing is that besides reasonable caution about talking this particular vaccine, there's an unfortunate overlap with the craziness and stupidity of the paranoid conspiracy bullshit that's corroded the dumber dregs of American life like brain poison. Sadly, the harmful nonsense spewed out by anti-vaxx nutjobs has the effect of making caution about the vaccine look like a symptom of mental illness.
