Immediately after activating you can downgrade it to the $30 plan, splitting that $60 over two months. Plus you can sign up through a referral and get a $25 credit towards your bill. I could PM you my referral link or you can do a Google search for referral links. The SE 2020 would be perfect for your parents. Basically just a slightly bigger version of the iPhone 4 but much faster, and it will get software updates for at least 5 years unlike other midrange phones. The only major loss would be the headphone jack.
