Whats crazy is that California has had some of the strictest lockdowns out of any state since this started and despite all that their numbers are worse than other big states like Texas and Florida who have been relatively open for business. Really begs to question just how effective are these lockdowns when they really havent shown to decrease the numbers. All I see them doing is killing off small businesses while padding the pockets of the giant corporations and not necessarily keeping anyone safer.

As someone that actually lives here, the lockdown has been completely toothless in every regard. Theres a house on every street it seems like having big parties at least once a week, and theres still a ton of people at the beaches and congregated in shopping centers.

And the numbers in our county were actually looking a lot better compared to the places you mention until the last couple weeks, and unfortunately what we are seeing here is likely a canary in the coal mine for the rest of the country
