Seriously, I've been to a seperate Ultimate and Melee gatherings and the melee people were so smelly I had to leave. I don't mean to meme, but it's one that's so real. The rape/abuse thing is an individual basis but the bad BO is literally everyone. I checked out EVO for a couple hours one year, and maybe the venue was big enough to allow for better ventilation, but I didn't detect any BO from the Melee section or anywhere else. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was much worse in smaller venues, and I generally agree that the "poor hygiene" stereotype is pretty damn embarrassing and should be worked on.
