And I use the word "weird" as a placeholder word to mean "could be perceived as red flags if genders were switched in this scenario" which is, as it is, an incredibly benign statement. Maybe you're to most tolerant person in the world, and we should all be like you. But in my own personal experience, in grappling with my own demons, this was the realization that helped me get over my, well transphobia is a harsh word, but just the part of me that got a little ruffled at the thought of trans. If you wanna dissect this, and call me an asshole because I instinctively cringe when people want to change their names or gender, then you are absolutely right. You are right because you are parroting the exact sentiment that I just made with my statement. I'm not saying what I'm saying for you, because you're perfectly tolerant and don't need to worry about it. I'm saying what I'm saying because it's whats helped me be 1% less of an asshole and I'm talking to the other assholes reading this topic, hoping they can find a new perspective that can help them be more tolerant.
