These were my responses to Reddit posts re: the best films from each year. I kind of went more in-depth and discussed each year, and my opinions kind of pissed some people off. Whatever. I used Wikipedia's "horror by year," and kind of cross-referenced my Letterboxd when I could (since the Wiki didn't include EVERYTHING).

1990 - holy shit what a year. I've never seen Baby Blood, hardware, singapore sling, the suckling, or Exorcist III - but i know those are popular favorites. There's also childs play 2, basket case 2, a cat on the brain, bride of the reanimator, frankenhooker, nightbreed, and tales from the darkside. I'm going with the reflecting skin, though.
1991 - again, I've never seen 964 pinnochio or nekromantik 2 - but I'm sure they're considerations. Child's play 3 and the pit and the pendulum are major considerations. I also like silent night deadly night 5 and puppet master 2. I'm going with people under the stairs, though. Definitely not as strong as 1990.
1992 - amityville: it's about time, basket case 3, army if darkness, the burning moon, the lawnmower man, pet semetary 2, and stepfather 3 are considerations. I'm going with a tie between dead alive and candyman, though - it's too tough to choose between those two; they're both GOATs.
1993 - i feel like most people would say cronos. This year kinda sucked. Things, schramm, and canmibal the musical are the higher points? maybe leprechaun? I'm going return of the living dead 3, though - the best in that franchise. Sorry not sorry.
1994 - most people would say cemetary man i guess. Meh. I personally like my sweet satan. I guess I'm saying in the mouth of madness. This year suuuucked.
1995 - tales from the hood hands down. Leprechaun 3 right behind. Would most people say species or night of the scarecrow? Idk. This year sucked, too.
1996 - the craft is literally the only worthwhile film. Thinner or the dentist for laughs?
1997 - event horizon or the cube. Everything else kinda is subpar.
1998 - maybe ring or bride of chucky? I was scrunching my face so hard reading this. It's starting to reek real bad of late 90s/early 00s is the psycho remake alright? I like gus van sant.
1999 - audition. No fucking contest. Blair witch would've taken it away almost any other year. Two GOATs in a sea of turds and nu metal diarrhea (even if carrie 2 and stigmata are guilty pleasures)
