I'm from Central Jersey right around where the battle of monmouth took place. we have a ton of historical places and parks around here cuz it's probably the most important thing ever to happen in jersey. if they like hamilton the musical i would def teach them about the battle of monmouth because it is very pivotal and IMO very interesting

right down the street from where I used to live is this old inn that's only open twice a month for kids, it's basically got nothing historic about it other than "george washington stopped here once to take a shit." lots of places around here like that but it legit is interesting. we have a road behind the target called "Washington's Advance" and even tho it's just a road behind a target now apparently it was actually one of the real roads Washington went down to get to the battle of monmouth. again I know it sounds boring but it's cool af knowing you're walking where george washington walked. behind the target. ye old target.
