But the thing is, there are so many more white people that had and have nothing to do with the system being put into place that turning around and pointing fingers at every single one of them isn't productive in changing it.

I honestly am starting to feel like people are pretending they think others are generalizing every single person cause it makes their argument stronger. Hiw many times do you gotta say "I obviously don't mean every single person in said group" before it gets through? Cause it seems like it never does. How rare is it when the person actually means every last one of the group they're generalizing? It should be an obvious understanding that generalizing means "enough to have an impact". I literally never feel targeted when people generalize white people, hispanics, guys, or whatever else I fall under. Maybe it's an insecurity thing. I guess you can't really control that as easy.

But like come on, put some effort in. Maybe I just don't hang out with enough racists to feel the strength of generalization. Because it's an understanding that everyone I'm around knows there's good and respectable people in all races.
