Have the backstory be an alternate WWI where America stays home and it's a stalemate with only Russia, the Ottomans, and Serbia really losing. France was on the verge of a revolt after winning WWI, so let's say they do and go socialist. Make a series where the first game is an alternate WWII where the monarchies of Britain, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy, and Japan fight France, Nationalist China, and the USSR. America could rattle its saber about all the imperialism, get attacked by Japan, and join their enemies. China, Canada, and Europe would be the main battlegrounds.
