yes this is his explanation. a very poorly constructed, intentionally baity way to goad someone into a "no ethical consumption under capitalism" discussion. note i am saying that is *his* explanation and not that i am absolving him of the statements for it. it's a bad argument and an absolutely fucking moronic and revolting way to try and make it. the majority of fuming/(cyclo?)'s claims are at least rooted in truth (no idea where the trans thing comes from, have never heard him say anything like that and i go out of my way to find controversy like this) but are the most uncharitable, removed from context and of any of vaush's statements or his overall body of work versions of the truth. vaush is an idiot and far from my favorite for plenty of reasons but that list of accusations is twitter-fueled, clipped and exaggerated anger from people who dislike him for like...shitting on chapo all the time or whatever (and right wingers ofc)

like if you want something legitimate to cancel vaush for, let it be his sexual harassment and pestering of internet friends. that's at least a real thing that isn't incredibly removed from the context it happened in (altho still greatly mischaracterized)
