Specially on teenagers but it is true for all ages. If all of your friends are doing A, even if you dont like it then it is really difficult to not do A AND still be friends with them. A good example is drinking. If all your friends like to drink then they will hang out to drink (perhaps at a bar) , while you can go with them and not drink eventually you might get bored because everyone ends up drunk af or they might stop inviting you. Some people start drinking because of this.
