| Gaawa_chan 10/24/20 1:54:02 AM #25: | It's a sociologically-motivated adaptation of the original function of tears (clearing one's eyes), but how exactly it came about I'm not sure; if I had to take shots in the dark I would say that it's either something we evolved to add to our distress signals to parents when we're children, and/or it evolved to provoke others to show mercy, as humans do seem prone to killing each other a lot. --- Hi ...
