If you delete a message then the topic goes back to where it was in the list, according to the latest non-deleted message. So I don't see... well I guess the bumper could then post as if they weren't the one who bumped it or they get somebody else to post and then delete before somebody noticed the necro I guess. Although because of the first point, that if no other messages are posted then it goes back down in the list, I don't see how the new system is worse than the old. The old didn't say whose message was deleted, did it?

Yeah if you self delete a message, the topic becomes "unbumped." The old system does say who posted. With the new system, Necrobumping works by having the Necrobumper bumping a topic, wait for someone to post and then self delete the bump to conceal their Necrobumping and their identity.

Necrobumping doesn't work in the old system as it still reveals the identity of the person who self deleted the post.
