It takes a good 20 minutes for your eyes to adjust, and in a dark area with a clear sky, it's pretty obvious when it happens. When some of these peak, there can be over 100 visible per hour, last one I watched I was out for two hours and I easily witnessed 50+

If it's not your thing, it's not your thing. Don't gotta bash it for people who enjoy it though.
