I'd like to point out that Hollywood executives, when pitched a movie about Harriet Tubman--a black slave who escaped her enslavement and became a crucial part of the Underground Railroad for other escaping slaves--had the kneejerk response of "let's cast Julia Roberts in the role". The problem, Corrik, is that historically, when trying to cast the "best" actor for the role, Hollywood tends to immediately default to white actors/actresses as the "best", without necessarily doing the work to consider whether, maybe, there are PoC who might be better.
