i thought this was comparing them to other moms/dads not to each other

To each other eh they've both got their good and bad points I don't really put one over the other, my dad's incredibly doting that it becomes overkill how demanding he can be since there's not much else going on with his life, my mom's the opposite, very detached into her own world and somewhat of an upper middle-class NIMBY liberal focused on her status and presentation. She's easier to talk with though, and so silly it's usually pretty easy to get along with her personally (unless you don't let things go her way she can snap)... the most frustrating thing though is how she runs over my dad if it helps her or the me and the siblings and it causes shit for our lives in between the two of them
