The Dorian romance is the best gay romance in any game ever, which isn't a long list I know. It's so good it's even great as a straight guy. It's the only one worth a damn in that game too. It's actually quite touching.

I was trying for something different and went with female this time around and I forgot Dorian existed. In fact, other than Varric, Iron Bull, Sera, Solas, and Cassandra, I completely forgot a lot about Vivienne, Dorian, and Cole. I should have gone male and tried Dorian because he's such a cool character and I'm also straight but like I said, I wanted different. I play male characters in all my games.

I'm currently going between Dragon Age Origins and Inquisition depending on my mood and decided on Elf female(Inquisition is Dalish and City for Origins). One thing I really liked about Inquisition is how my beliefs, where I'm from, what class I am, they all give good good little bits of flavor to text. I'm a Dalish Elf Mage...that right there opened whole different types of dialogue that I wasn't expecting it and yet I love that it exists.

I really enjoyed it, and thought near most of the characters were utterly fabulous myself. Solas was just so wonderful, and voiced excellently in addition - but all of them were voiced great as well.

Ah so someone else who likes Solas. I like the little bits of info he has and his little adventures, myself. At first, he is slightly one of those 'boring' characters but sorta opens up. I'm currently romancing him since I can't do a Dorian romance because I messed up(I forgot that he was gay and not bi...I just thought Iron Bull was the gay one)
