| CommonJoe 10/02/20 6:54:08 PM #10: | The "Empire" isnt the same Empire that you interacted with in earlier games, for one, and for two the entire unrest is caused by the fact that they unequivocally *won* the Great War but still conceded a bunch of crap to the Thalmor because Cyrodiil got trashed. Skyrim and High Rock were untouched and Hammerfel had the strength to win on their own against whatever might the Dominion had left. If the Mede Empire didn't give everything up just to spare Cyrodiil anymore fighting the Empire wouldn't have fractured and it'd be better poised to reunify the continent. The Stormcloaks as a faction may have their issues (as does the Empire) but they have more of a right to be rebelling than the Empire does to blithely assume their subservience after everything they did. Its a case where Ulfrics rebellion would still realistically outgrow him even if he was executed at the beginning of the Skyrim events, because in the end theres more to that entire conflict than Ulfric just being a populist. --- I dream of a society where I would be guillotined as a conservative. https://youtu.be/NkRkuI0ZgX0 ...
