And the biggest reason it attracts the criticism it does is because it's the largest fast food chain in its niche (technically Subway has more locations but, other than its history of hiring sex offenders to represent the company, it doesn't seem to attract much criticism for whatever reason -- and honestly, it's probably the worst of the major sandwich chains) The biggest chains are rarely the worst chains overall because, if they really sucked, they wouldn't be able to get big in the first place. (And some smaller chains aren't so much hindered by quality as they might just lack exposure or good business practices. And, of course, a lot of mom&pop fast food places have owners who lack the business sense to create any kind of a successful chain.) They became successful because of their original recipes.
