Similar thing happened with Nintendo in general, when everyone was more about Playstation and Xbox. During middle/high school, there is intense pressure to fit in with one's peers, and teens are going through the phase where they reject things seen as childish in their pursuit to appear mature. But once they enter college, people tend to stop caring about that and are more easily able to connect with others with the same interests. --- I often wonder if we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing. ...
