The fact that you literally have to play through every single episode of a level, just randomly exploring and shit because not every blue coin is always available, and will only show up at a certain episode, that's just so much damn trial and error it's ridiculous. All they had to do was add a tracker of sorts and blue coins would have been bearable, even with the obscurity of some of them as you point out. At least you have ideas where to look and can somewhat narrow them down.
