You do know that owning property isn't all roses right? It costs money to fix things. You've also got to pay a crapload of property tax depending on which state you own property in. When you rent, you don't have to worry about that type of stuff. I'm not defending the evil/corrupt/stingy landlords out there but there are good landlords too who charge reasonable rent and take care of things when they break. Your statement is just so wrong. Edited to add another example. What if someone earned enough to buy a house for themselves and decided to rent out a room? Does that make them a landlord worth harming?
