I find thats usually the problem with a lot of remakes nowadays is that they pretty much kill any and all levity OR go the Marvel route in a medium where going the Marvel route makes zero sense. Takes itself pretty serious from watching it. Another issue i have with the movie is the side characters are virtually non existent. Remember yao, ling and chien po? They exist but have basically no screen time and when they do get it you barely remember who's who cuz they all have samey personalities.
