| faramir77 08/24/20 8:38:17 PM #9: | I played through the GBC game today. Took only a few hours. Every bit as good as I remembered, but it is totally unforgiving early on unless you grind. Equipment upgrades are also very expensive. They're really useful, but you lose them when you finish the game and it starts from the beginning again (although you keep your experience and levels gained). I saved up for some extremely expensive robes, and then one of the last enemies I beat randomly dropped even better robes (which I don't remember ever happening before). It felt like I wasted my money. Another shame is that you lose the spells you've learned. I spent a lot of time grinding to learn the new spells, and then you lose them. Lastly, the story really jumps around. You will need to have either read the book (which the game follows quite well) or watched the movie to fill in a lot of details. Harry seemingly just suddenly understands things that never get explained to him "on screen" in the game. All in all, I'd give it 8.5/10.
