How much of this comes from ingrained social conditioning, evolutionary biology, or just the fact that women traditionally have made less than men is anybody's guess. However, I'll say that my brother's wife makes way more than he does (220k vs 65-80k) and I think all but one of my cousins' wives make more than they do (or made in one case, as she lost her six figure job as a result of these fucking lockdowns), but I don't know the numbers in most cases.
