Which is why I'm glad all my friends are cats or online basically, barring my spouse. Used to go on dates but the virus kinda halted that. Family does birthdays and holidays. Otherwise free to just chill with my cats and go to the store once every week or two. TBF I'm not just an introvert, I have chronic pain and fatigue issues and sometimes crippling anxiety. But I can definitely see how someone could end up pressured or feeling obligated. Society tends to push the going out and 'real friends' narrative pretty hard. I just gave up on being ''normal' fully a long time ago, saves a lot of grief. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
