But yes cats in particular have the unfortunate compulsion to run out in front /under of vehicles. For something that's supposed to be very good spacially they completely lack the concept of speeding objects. I've seen other animals like dogs and even chickens get caught in traffic and realise it, and try to haul themselves out of danger. Some unsuccessful but still.
