But yeah, I think initial impressions themselves were hit or miss, too. I mean, pre-game hype was real because the graphics were (and are) amazing, Wolf Link is a cool feature, the map was huge, Zelda had a sword, there was a darkness to everything, and it just looked like a really cool game. And the first two dungeons were great!

But there was also the hour-long tutorial section that started the game out a bit rough (especially considering many of the elements and characters are no longer utilized after the second dungeon). And once you begin opening up the map... it's a lot, a LOT, of empty space. Hell, one big section that takes up 20-30% of the map is just an empty snowboard minigame... Then you get to the large amount of useless inventory, the Poe quest, abrupt turns in the story for little reason, and it's just... eh. Some days I miss it, but never enough to go out and look for it again.
