| s0nicfan 08/09/20 2:10:40 PM #41: | I don't think religion is specifically, but people are tribal by nature. They want to be part of an identity and to feel included. Religion used to be one way to keep a group cohesive. Nationalism is another. Skin color is a third, and of course baby more exist. If people don't believe in God, and they don't believe in the state, then where they choose to put their faith is going to be some other ideal, movement, or collective. It would be foolish of us to assume that the negative behaviors brought about by organized religion would suddenly vanish if you got rid of religion.
