You make the claim, you back it up, otherwise it is impossible to say whether it is true or not. You can be irrational if you want, but don't expect anyone to take you seriously. Assuming victims are lying runs opposite from assuming everyone is innocent until proven guilty. It makes no sense to assume everyone is Chicken Little because once in a while they are.
