"The confusion may have been due, in part, to the fact that the stopped car was reported stolen earlier in the year," the statement said. "After realizing the mistake, officers immediately unhandcuffed everyone involved, explained what happened and apologized."Why did the police give two contradictory excuses? And when do they ever initiate a stop like this solely on a plate number and not also a basic description of the vehicle (which would absolutely include what state the plate is from)? --- ...
