Welcome to the second day of Board 8's Favorite North American Subdivision! First, don't forget to take a look at our few quick, common-sense rules if you haven't already:

• Alt voting is lame. Don't do it.
• Editing your vote is allowed as long as you're not changing the subdivision you're voting for in a given match; preferably don't delete and repost your vote to correct a typo when you can edit it instead.
• Matches will last exactly 24 hours - no less and no more, not even by a second.
• If a given match is tied at that time, I'll run tiebreakers on subsequent days until one subdivision wins.
• I reserve the right to edit these rules at any time should I have missed something or otherwise feel it's necessary.

Now, let's move on to today's contenders and their matches:

Ohio vs. District of Columbia

On the left side, we have the state that doesn't exist. On the right side, we have the one US entrant that isn't a state at all. Nonetheless, one has to advance.

South Carolina vs. New Mexico

These two states perhaps aren't among the biggest tickets of their respective regions, but they nonetheless have draws for the discerning. Which will win?

Georgia vs. Alaska

Here we have another hot-cold contrast akin to yesterday's third match, only these two states are practically as close as it gets to exact opposites. Historical South or Natural North (speaking broadly), which will it be?

Minnesota vs. Nebraska

One could argue that Minnesota popularized the plains populism ethos, and that it then reached its peak in Nebraska. Which Northern Plains state does B8 favor?
