No Texas isn't as bad. Florida's is completely fucked up.
According to Texas Law Self-Defense is not allowed in the person has done the following.
  • provoked the person they were defending against
  • was engaged in a criminal activity (other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law regulating traffic).
What will likely happen is the guy will try and claim that he "accidentally" plowed into the crowd and then became scared for his life when protesters began hitting his vehicle.
