Essays were always bullshit imo. There's no right or wrong. It's just whether the grader likes what you have to say.
No, its whether you can construct and support your argument well, if youre talking English. Construct and support your argument, research and cite relevant literature in history, etc.

Those can be graded objectively, but they rarely are.
Regardless, essays are nothing more than meaningless busywork.
No they cant, unless your only criteria is did they do it, did they have a thesis, etc. rubrics are not objective
